You say I've got trouble
I've got trouble all over me
I've got trouble since the day I was born
And it's not just a struggle
It's the blood running through my veins
It's all the clothes I've ever worn
And when I'm with You I feel so overdressed
The trouble is I'm not above or beyond anything
So I know You must be good for me
As far as You can and as bad as I am
I know You must be good for me
I'm a terrible lover
I never love You the way I should
And every single reason's wrong
Oh my sister, my brothers
We've got history on our heels
And We're running like we broke the law
With friends like these tell me, who needs the police?
The trouble is I'm not above or beyond anything
So I know You must be good for me
As far as You can and as bad as I am
I know You must be good for me
We're making noise in the temple
But we're skimming off the top
And we don't want you to suffer
But you don't want to stop
Because you know that it's the only way
The trouble is I'm not above or beyond anything
So I know You must be good for me
As far as You can and as bad as I am
I know You must be good for me

Your love is a heart that’s beating
Your love is an angel’s wings
Your love is a boat that sails on a never-ending breeze
Your love is a sunset fire
Your love is a melody
Your love is the grace that brings the sinner to his knees
I need your love, your love
I need your love to stay with me
Your love is a newborn laughing
A fire in the winter’s cold
Your love is the bread and wine that breaks to make me whole
Your love is a king returning
Beneath the banner of victory
Your love is the chains of a prisoner finally falling free
I need your love, your love
I need your love to stay with me
You can change my name
You can make me someone new
Love is always a promise
And your promises are true
I need your love, your love
I need your love to stay with me
I need your love when the flames consume me
I need it when my heart breaks
I need it as a still small voice
When the earth around me shakes

This house is a good mess it’s the proof of life
No way would I trade jobs but I don’t pay overtime
I’ll get to the laundry I don’t know when
I’m saying a prayer tonight cause tomorrow it starts again
Could it be that everything is sacred
And all this time
Everything I’ve dreamed of has been right before my eyes
The children are sleeping but they’re running through my mind
The sun makes them happy and the music makes them unwind
My cup runneth over, I worry about the stain
Teach me to run to you like they run to me for every little thing
Cause everything is sacred
And all this time
Everything I’ve dreamed of has been right before my eyes
When I forget to drink from you I can feel the banks harden
Lord make me like a stream to feed the garden
Wake up little sleeper
The Lord God Almighty
Made your mama keeper
So rise and shine, rise and shine, rise and shine
Cause everything is sacred
And all this time
Everything I’ve dreamed of has been right before my eyes

That boy had the highest of expectations
And he heard that Jesus would fill him up
Maybe something got lost in the language
If this was full, then why bother?
This was not the way it looked on the billboard
Smiling family beaming down on the interstate
You know that we all try to blame someone
But our dreams won’t rise up from their sleep
And the reaching of the steeple felt like one more
Expensive ad for something cheap
This was not the way it looked on the billboard
Smiling family beaming down on the interstate
Dressed up nice for the congregation
Scared somebody’s gonna find him out
Through the din and the clatter of the hallelujahs
A stained glass Jesus sings
This was not the way it looked on the billboard
Smiling family beaming down on the interstate

Late at night I wonder why, sometimes I wonder why
Sometimes I’m so tired I don’t even try
Seems everything around me fails
But I hold onto the promise that there is a reason
Late at night the darkness makes it hard to see
The history of the saints who’ve gone in front of me
Through famine, plague, and disbelief
His hand was still upon them
Cause there is a reason, there is a reason
He makes all things good
He makes all things good
There’s a time to live a time to die
A time for wondering, to wonder why
Cause there is a reason, there is a reason
There is a reason
I believe that God who sent who sent His only Son
To walk upon this world and give His life for us
With blood and tears on a long dark night
And know that he believed there is a reason
There is a reason
He makes all things good
He makes all things good
There’s a time to live a time to die
A time for wondering, to wonder why
Cause there is a reason, there is a reason
There is a reason
The lonely nights the broken hearts
The widow’s mite in the rich man’s hand
And the continent whose blood becomes a traitor
A child afraid to close their eyes
The prayers that seem unanswered
There is a reason, there is a reason
He makes all things good
He makes all things good
There’s a time to live a time to die
A time for wondering, to wonder why
Cause there is a reason, there is a reason
There is a reason

Don’t blame the bullet for the wars you have sown
Don’t blame the winter when you’ve forgotten your coat
When you make the same deals for a hundred years
And you wanna make a change
You’ve gotta hold up the mirror now
And share in the blame
don’t blame your brother for the color of his skin
Don’t blame your neighbor for the house he lives in
From the same cloth we are all made up, we are just the same
You gotta hold up the mirror now
And share in the blame
Like a coming of age I am learning how say
All the failures I’m dragging behind
And I find freedom to speak, freedom to release
Tonight I wanna make peace with you
Don’t blame the writer for the doubts in your head
Don’t blame the preacher for the lovers in your bed
When you find out that the world is round
Everything is rearranged
You gotta hold up the mirror now and share in the blame
Like a coming of age I am learning how say
All the failures I’m dragging behind
And I find freedom to speak, freedom to release
Tonight I wanna make peace with you
Don’t blame the president, no, don’t blame the king
Don’t blame your history for what might have been
We will be free when the grass is green and the lion is tame
If we just hold up the mirror now and share in the blame
If we just hold up the mirror now and share in the blame

It’s been a long year, like a sleepless night
Jacob wrestled the angel but I’m too tired to fight
Every Wednesday for two years we’ve met
I’ve showed you all my anger, doubts, and bitterness
There was no judgment in your eyes
Just the silent peace of God that felt so real in you
Will you hold the light for me?
Will you hold the light for me?
And I stay up late, cause I cannot sleep
I don’t wanna face the quiet, it’s just God and me
Cause I’m waiting for the gavel handing me the sentence down
Cause I don’t believe forgiveness or even repentance now
There was no judgment in your eyes
Just the silent peace of God that felt so real in you
Will you hold the light for me?
Will you hold the light for me?
I wanna feel redemption flowing through my veins
I wanna see with clear eyes beyond lust and hate
I want the war to be over and know the good guys won
I want love to hold me and know I’m not alone
Standing round a willow weeping
We’re praying in the backyard
And the chill of the night, the friendship light reminded me
Who we are

From Johannesburg to Cape Town, the plane had barely touched down
She was taking photos for the friends back home
This was where she had always felt her heart belonged
She was finally here, the sky was bright and clear
Two weeks
And we all can feel the calling
Two weeks
To make the world a little smaller
So a girl got on a plane for two weeks in Africa
Johannesburg to Houston she came home on a mountain
But school was starting, things kept moving on
Before you knew it seven years had gone
She found a picture of her standing smiling,
Arms around the starving kids she swore to not forget
She swore to not forget
Two weeks
And we all can feel the calling
Two weeks
To make the world a little smaller
So a girl got on a plane for two weeks in Africa
And if we follow our dear sun to where the shores are not familiar…
Faces turn to numbers, numbers fall like manna from the sky
Why, oh why, oh Father, why?
One village in Malawi now has water running pure and clean
One church alive in Kenya’s full of truth and love and medicine
We put the walls up but Jesus keeps ‘em standin’
He doesn’t need us, but He lets us put our hands in
So we can see His love is bigger than you and me
Two weeks
And we all can feel the calling
Two weeks
To make the world a little smaller
So a girl got on a plane for two weeks in Africa

You said to put on a happy face on a high school stage
But I read what you really meant, your handwriting on a Bible page
I waited like you told me, though we knew it right away
It took eight and a half more years to finally say
I fell in love with you, and the love became something new
It keeps getting stronger than we ever could have longed
Love keeps growing more love
When we got the news we had to call our families
And start painting the room a nice bright blue
Our vows, they started breathing and they took on flesh and blood
And we held them in our arms and tasted that God was good
I fell in love with you, and the love became something new
Added a name and we added a smile, keeps getting bigger ever further mile
There on your bended knee, we sowed the seeds of our history
Coming up stronger than we ever could have longed
Love keeps growing more love
If love is an echo of the heart, the heart is a canyon
It stretches wild and free without an end
It breaks through every wall that holds us in
I’m on the other side of the world to see what changed you so
My heart breaks with the broken and it dances with the hope
You told me I would find here what I could not understand
‘Til I’m walking here beside you hand in hand
I fell in love with you, and the love became something new
Added a name and we added a smile, keeps getting bigger ever further mile
There on your bended knee, we sowed the seeds of our history
Coming up stronger than we ever could have longed
Love keeps growing more love

All across the western world, second hand, second skin
The rain comes through where the roof is thin
All across the western world
All across the ocean wide
With brothers, neighbors at our door
Our banks are full but our souls are poor
All across the western world
So melt your wings like wax to fire
Let your self fall out of time
From ashes we rise
The broken down are on the mend
And blessed are those who have no voice
You’re only free when you have no choice
All across the western world
So melt your wings like wax to fire
Let your self fall out of time
From ashes we rise
All across the open sky
In my career of broken wings
Redemptive ends from tragic means
All across the western world
So melt your wings like wax to fire
Let your self fall out of time
From ashes we rise

We’ve all got our burdens, our secrets and our shames
We’ve all been discouraged and watched love fall in flames
And when we’ve hit the bottom of all we can bear
When we need you
You rise like the morning sun, a pillar in the night
Who looked into the void and called it light
And you’re faithfully providing for the trouble that we share
When we need you you’ve always been there
Blessed are the poor all around the world
Your children living under war and oppression
Cause you’re the man of sorrows, they whisper up their prayers
When they need you
You rise like the morning sun, a pillar in the night
Who looked into the void and called it light
And you’re faithfully providing for the trouble that we share
When we need you you’ve always been there
And how do we know in the dark of the night
To call out for you, Lord, to come with your light
We were born with you hidden on our hearts
And now we need you
You rise like the morning sun, a pillar in the night
Who looked into the void and called it light
And you’re faithfully providing for the trouble that we share
When we need you you’ve always been there
When we need you you’ve always been there

I have a constant need for motion
I need to leave the past behind
To see all the good things I left dying come to life
So long I let the lies deceive me and I let them take their toll
I’m growing tired of the illusion I’m in control
Cause you are there in all my histories, my victories and pains
You are there in all my shadows, with forgiveness you are waiting
When I need a place to hide, when I need a place to hide,
I need hope to start again
I need hope to start again
You give me hope, I need hope to start again
Into my own hands I take matters
Cause deep in my heart I stole the throne
Where you have always led so faithfully I know
Doesn’t it seem I’m always running
Most of the time it’s not to you
Give me faith to know your promises are true
Cause you are there in all my histories, my victories and pains
You are there in all my shadows, with forgiveness you are waiting
When I need a place to hide, when I need a place to hide,
I need hope to start again
I need hope to start again
You give me hope, I need hope to start again
Here is the place where I face my secrets
Where I lay them down
When I need a place to hide, when I need a place to hide
When I need a place to hide
I need hope to start again, I need hope to start again
You give me hope, I need hope to start again

Can you feel it in the air, the air you’re breathing
Tore your ticket for the long ride home
Can you feel it in your prayer when you’r kneeling
Do you bow just to raise up a stone?
Old habits, they die hard in you
Old loves, they leaves shards in you
It’s not too late
To give a little love
Everybody breaks, everybody love, everybody bleeds
Love
Everybody takes, everybody love, everybody needs
Love
This is the cost of living, the price for breathing
The silver thread that weaves us into one
When the pain’s too much to bear, you want to stop believing
Hallelujah, there’s nowhere else to run
Life is hard but it will get better
You and I, we were made to live forever
And this side of faith you’ve got
To give a little love
Everybody breaks, everybody love, everybody bleeds
Love
Everybody takes, everybody love, everybody needs
Love
You found the note on the table
Felt the blood rush to your face
Another heart broken in the name of love
Cause everybody breaks, everybody loves, cause everybody bleeds
Love
Everybody takes, everybody loves, everybody needs
Love
We learn from the breaking, the giving, the taking
The silver thread that weaves us into one
We stand through the fire as the flames reach higher
After all these years we’ve finally just begun
To love

How long you have trembled, in darkness weeping
No rest in language, no words to speak
But there in the wreckage, beneath bricks and blindness
Love has come, love has come for you
Against the night sky of your waiting
Your face is like starlight when he walks in
Everything worth keeping it comes through dying
And love has come, love has come for you
So lift up your heart now to this unfolding
All that has been broken, it will be restored
And here runs deep waters for all who are thirsty
Cause love has come, love has come for you
Ten thousand angels will light your pathway
Until the day breaks fully in the east
And they will surround you and make your way straight
Cause love has come, love has come for you
Oh love has come, love has come for you
